Plein aire painting is my passion. My travels have taken me across the U.S. and around the world. Painting outdoors forces me to slow down, really take in my surroundings, and discover new ways of portraying the geology, flora, scenery, and structures. I earned an MFA at the University of Denver and a BFA at Washington University in St. Louis. My paintings have been exhibited nationally and my work has appeared in several design annuals. In addition to painting, I taught full-time at the Art Institute of California Orange County and painting workshops at the Living Desert in Palm Desert, California. Here I am on the Tsankawi Trail in Bandelier National Park with a quick study of the area. |
